BEHIND THE SCENES
 

An artist, Flan, is commended for his most well-known exhibition, "The Muses". 4 women, Zola, Violet, Thandi and Angus are trapped in large cubes. Each cube representing a kind of oppression embedded on them because of aspects that represent their femininity. The audience has the freedom to do what they want with the women for as long as they want.

Will the audience take it too far? Or, will they hear the women plea for help?

We are exploring how the women's body has been abused, the micro-aggressions thrown at her and how we have normalised making women be responsible for their own safety when they aren't the primary problem. Our short film is a commentary on how the effects of labelling women as inferior and enabling men to take on superior roles, in our society, has also contributed to the ill treatment of women.
